Campaign Story

Hello,

Our names are Katie and Victor C. We have been married since October 20,2017. We decided we would like to start the journey of adding to our family. Kayden is my son from a previous relationship and he is 10. Victor has no children of his own. After months of having no such luck l decided it was time to see my obygn. After the basic labs and ultrasounds I was told there were no findings or explanation as to why I wasn’t getting pregnant. The only advice that I was given was to “ go home and try to lose some weight.” When I heard that my heart sank and I had given up hope. June 2020 we decided to dig back into our infertility. From that point until recently; April 2022 we have gone through all the routine testing and procedures needed to rule out any problems. After several uncomfortable procedures and painful blood draws the only answer I got was “ unexplained infertility.” This was a complete blow to our world. My husband and I decided to try a cycle of iui that ended being unsuccessful. We immediately began our second cycle on letrozole with no avail. To add to the added stress we are completely self pay at this point. Every speciality medication is out of pocket including a single injection for $100 each cycle. We are so desperate to have our miracle and we are doing all we can. The amount of stress of the situation is a lot to take in on top of piling costs. Our insurance gives us no ivf coverage and we know in our hearts we could never be able to afford ivf on our own. It is so hard to ask for help, but we are so determined to complete our family.
